The move to Ellington Ridge marks the first time in tournament history that the event will not be played at Timberlin Golf Club. Ellington Ridge was chosen after more than a dozen courses expressed interest in hosting the event. The various amenities that Ellington Ridge has to offer, including an outstanding clubhouse and practice area, as well as the variety of tee and hole locations, factored greatly into the final decision. “As a committee member and former participant, its great to see the Northern Junior being played at a great course in Ellington Ridge’ said Ross Alberghini, Tournament Committee member and Live Scoring Coordinator. “I think the players will enjoy playing there and I look forward to working with Ellington Ridge as tournament preparations begin.”

Ellington Ridge Country Club is widely regarded as one of the best private courses in the state of Connecticut. The 18-hole championship golf course was designed by the noted golf architect, Geoffrey Cornish, in 1959 and has undergone numerous major improvements in the last 50 years. Practice areas include a top rated driving range, 2 practice putting greens and new sand and chipping practice area. Ellington Ridge has also played host to numerous prestigious events, including three Connecticut Open Championships, the 2008 Connecticut Amateur and the UCONN Connecticut Cup.

“Each year, we try to do whatever we can to bring our tournament to the next level”, said Brent Paladino, Tournament Director. “While our tournament enjoyed success at Timberlin Golf Club since its inception, we felt like it was time to seek a facility that could offer superior condition and amenities for our players. Ellington Ridge has one of the best practice facilities in the state and an unbelievable dining facility and banquet area, which will help us truly deliver a PGA-Tour experience to our players from the moment they arrive.”
